Imagine taking off your boots after a long day of skiing, and placing your cold toes on a nice warm floor. I know, the idea sounds like a luxury only in the fanciest of mountain homes. But, surprisingly, radiant heating is actually a more cost effective and energy efficient way to heat a home. Instead of blowing warm air into a room, which will quickly rise to the ceiling, radiant heating warms up the actual floor, which retains heat longer than the air. Then, this heat slowly rises through the whole room, concentrating the heat at lower levels.
