Energy Efficient Interior Design

Energy efficient interior design is becoming increasingly more important.  An energy efficient room can help prevent energy waste and save money. Choosing the right colors, windows, window coverings, flooring materials, appliances and furnishings can all affect the amount of energy needed to maintain a comfortable interior environment.

Consider using LED light bulbs if you are looking for ways to save on energy costs.  They have come a long way in producing a good replacement for incandescent light bulbs, even better than compact fluorescents.  They are more expensive than other light bulbs right now, but they will save you money in the long run.  LEDs use less wattage and energy, put out better light and last longer than compact fluorescents.  In addition, LEDs provide full light right away, unlike compact fluorescents that take a few minutes to warm up.
